We want to give all Masters athletes the opportunity to improve their fitness, and be able to compete if they choose. The number of competitive and Games bound athletes in the Masters division from Mayhem Athlete continues to grow each season! We had well over 30 Age Group Athletes compete in the 2022 CrossFit Games crowning 3 Champions.
We are giving you access to what we believe to be the best formula to compete as a CrossFit Masters athlete.
This track offers volume in all aspects of strength, conditioning, and gymnastics at a volume and intensity to take you to your peak levels of fitness. This track will ensure you are ready to compete to your full potential.
We use the same philosophy and programming methodology across all of Mayhem. That means many of the workouts you see within Mayhem Masters or Mayhem Teens will often look similar to Mayhem Compete and other Mayhem tracks. The difference is we tailor the volume, intensity and recovery time to specific Age Group Athlete’s needs across the board. (Age Groups 14-15, 16-17, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+).
Our Masters and Teens programming is inherently very challenging, maybe more so than any other. But there is a “Method to the Mayhem.” Success takes a lot of hard work, intentionality, and community. All of which we offer in a high level every single day. Rising to the challenge will help take your fitness further than you previously thought possible.
Each day’s workouts include warm ups, cool downs, and workout notes that clearly explain the intended stimulus, target scores, time caps, movement explanation, scaling options and more. We intentionally vary the lifting, load, gymnastic volume, and recovery programmed to best suite the unique needs of all Masters athletes. While we still aim to compete as long as possible, we keep longevity and overall health in mind. This means listen to your body! Competing is great, but your health is ultimately far more important. So help us go further together AND stay health along the way!
Many of the scaling and modifying options from age group to age group are based off the CrossFit Games Competitive Season (The Open, QuarterFinals, SemiFinals & Games). We use their standard of movements and competition to help better prepare our Masters Athletes for the “unknown and unknowable” each season. While we cannot predict the future, we can be more prepared to compete than any other community and fitness family!
Masters Athletes (ages 35 to 70) or Teens (14 to 17) looking to improve fitness for the Open, Local competitions, Masters Qualifier, and/or the CrossFit Games Masters or Teens Division. It is for those looking to focus on skill development, strength development, and engine building.
For SemiFinals and Games Athletes, this track will take about 60-90 minutes each day. For Games Athletes, the entire track will usually take 2+ hours to complete each day and may need to be broken up into 2 sessions. If you are not accustomed to a higher volume of training, then start with 1 session and you can still see significant improvements in fitness.
We provide programming EVERYDAY! We do follow the traditional schedule of 5 days on and 2 days “off.” Workouts are included Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Thursdays are an active recovery day (often having the option of a longer cardio workout) and Sundays are a full rest day (with an optional, easy cardio workout, often a swim).
